Overview of Round 5 at Croft, Dunlop Endurance Championship, 23rd July 2016

Last weekend at Croft really proved just what this little team is capable of. Having overcome some niggly problems through the first half of the season this weekend seemed to unfold in a more measured way. The team had a solid test day on Friday which provided some much needed track time as the Z4 had not visited the circuit before. It also gave Ian some extra time in the car which proved so valuable in the race. The team was also pleased to welcome the "new boy" Carlos, a Masters Graduate from Oxford Brookes University, he has a font of knowledge to help in the data analysis and his ongoing input is greatly anticipated.

The team will be assembling at Croft race circuit tomorrow for a long day of testing ahead of the Dunlop Endurance Championship race on Saturday. We’re looking forward to having Carlos Rayo Lleixá join us for the weekend as an additional race engineer. Carlos is from Oxford Brookes University and is currently studying for an MSc in Motorsport Engineering. Both of our drivers this weekend, Ian Lawson and Kevin Clarke, know Croft circuit very well. Overview of the NE1 Motor Show, 9 – 10th July 2016

Whilst we prep the car for the Dunlop Endurance Championship this weekend at Croft (more on that to follow), we’re still on a high after a fantastic two days at the NE1 Motor Show on Grey Street in Newcastle. The memory of ‘Thor’ positioned on the famous Grey Street in Newcastle is certainly not one that will fade any time soon!

A lot of planning and effort went into making sure the Z could be positioned in a prime location and it definitely paid off. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our little team being nestled amongst big car dealerships such as Aston Martin, Lloyds BMW, Bentley and Tesla to name a few. We certainly held our own though and the Z attracted so much attention and interest from people of all ages and even a news crew! It was a very humbling experience for everyone in the team answering questions about the car and watching as people become more and more drawn towards the Z. We are always so appreciative of those who are willing to stop and take photos of ‘Thor’ and spread the INGSport brand further afield. Good friends of the team (Jonathan Murphy and Jack Storey) have captured some great moments from the weekend which can be found on their respective websites.

Merchandise sales were brilliant too and we hope all those who bought INGSport team t-shirts will wear them with pride.

Our appetites and spirits were kept fuelled by the very yummy (and award-winning) burgers on offer at the Fat Hippo Underground; the filling breakfasts at Blakes; and the tea/coffee at Greggs. We only wish those eateries were available on race weekends!

A HUGE thank you goes to Steve and Ben at NE1 Newcastle for inviting the INGSport team to the event. It was a real privilege and we can’t thank them enough for being so welcoming. Talks have already begun regarding our input for the 2017 NE1 Motor Show so watch this space…!

NE1 Newcastle Motor Show, 9th-10th July 2016

INGSport are very excited to announce that we will be taking part in this year's NE1 Motor Show on Grey Street in Newcastle on the 9th and 10th July.

Following on from a successful debut last year, the NE1 Motor Show is returning with a bigger profile and footprint across the city centre. Many top car brands and dealerships will be in attendance as well as private car collections. The event is free and suits those interested in all types of cars from all different eras. The organisers have also planned for a giant cinema screen to broadcast the Formula One British Grand Prix at Silverstone which takes place over the same weekend. It is set to be a brilliant and fun weekend and we are so thrilled to have been asked to be a part of it, flying the motorsport flag for the event. We'll be showcasing the Z in all its glory and hope to see many of you there supporting us.

More information will be announced in due course but in the mean time, you can read more about the NE1 event here:
